On your message/application, please let us know on which phase or step you are in as listed below.
01. Fulfill State-Specific Licensing Requirements
Each U.S. state has its own licensing criteria, which may include additional exams, background checks, or supervised practice hours. Contact the licensing board in the state where you intend to practice to understand and fulfill these specific requirements.
02. Pass the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE)
03. Address Educational Deficiencies
If the evaluation identifies gaps in your education, you may need to complete additional coursework to meet U.S. requirements. Agencies like FCCPT can guide you in selecting appropriate courses.
04. Credential Evaluation
Have your educational credentials assessed to ensure they are equivalent to U.S. standards. This evaluation compares your coursework to the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) Coursework Tool (CWT) to determine equivalency.
05. Obtain Authorization to Work in the U.S
Secure a valid visa or work permit. This often involves obtaining a Healthcare Worker Certificate (HCWC) from an approved agency, such as the Foreign Credentialing Commission on Physical Therapy (FCCPT) or the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS).
